Grading Policy:

You will be graded on a total points scale.  Each marking period you will be able to accumulate approximately 600 to 800 total points.  Your grade will be determined by taking the points earned and dividing by the total possible points for the marking period.

·          Full period Test will be given approximately once every two weeks.  Students will be given at least two school days notice as to testing dates (in most cases I will announce a test a week in advance.)  Students are required to make up missed test as soon as possible.  Test will be worth 100 points each.  Approximately 5 test per marking period works out to be worth nearly 70% of the quarter grade.

·          Quizzes will be given often, usually without prior notice.  Quizzes will consist of two to ten questions and will be worth anywhere from 10 to 50 points.  Some homework assignments will be graded as quizzes (see below.)

·          Homework will be given everyday.  It will be collected and checked most days and random assignments will be graded as quizzes using the following rubric:

Homework not fully completed =0

Homework complete, all work shown=5

All students will start the quarter with 100 points for homework. Five points will be deducted for each missed or incomplete assignment.  THERE WILL BE NO MAKE-UP OR EXTRA CREDIT ASSIGNMENTS. Homework that does not show appropriate work will be considered incomplete.

Students that are not prepared for class will lose 5 homework points.  You must have your book, paper and something with which to write or you will be considered unprepared.

***BORROWING A BOOK, PAPER OR A PENCIL FROM A CLASSMATE DOES NOT MAKE YOU PREPARED FOR CLASS.
